User interface information

The Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE) uses OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) for user interface displays.

DLESE developed an XML schema-based version of the Dave Winer draft OPML 2.0 specification. To use OPML in user interface displays, DLESE extended the base OPML with several attributes and elements in a different namespaces. To access the base OPML and the DLESE extended OPML, see below

Groups OPML

The groups OPML extension is used by DLESE to control labeling, ordering and grouping of controlled vocabularies in UI
displays:

Trees OPML

The trees OPML extension is used by DLESE to create HTML navigation menus like the one this website uses:
