This website about South Florida water, ecosystems, and animals offers information and activities for primary through middle school children. It includes present and past flow patterns and plans to restore the ecosystem; brief descriptions of coral reefs, dunes, marshes, swamps, hardwood hammocks (thick stands of hardwood trees on slight rises in wetlands), mangroves, pinelands and scrubs (pinewood plant communities on well-drained, sandy soils); and creatures, including birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. There are printable images for coloring, and games, including memory games about birds, invasive species, and bugs, and a heron tile game.
