CloudSat CD: Revealing the Inner Secrets of Clouds DLESE Reviewed Collection
This CD-ROM provides a detailed overview of the NASA CloudSat satellite, its mission, personnel, other satellites in the "A-Train," science and technology behind the mission, launch information, and program partners. It also contains educational activities, artwork, references and a glossary, as well as links to further information. Included are video clips of CloudSat scientists and other mission personnel. Participants describe their careers and answer questions about climate, weather, radar and the mission. NASA's CloudSat is an Earth System Science Pathfinder mission. The satellite uses a special cloud-profiling radar to study clouds and precipitation to gain valuable data on global climate variation.
